Silica Gel is used to help remove polar impurities and colors, oftentimes in Color Remediation Columns. Silica gel is made from silicon dioxide that has an absorptive texture like pellets. Silica gel is super absorbent and naturally acidic, so it can absorb material that needs to be separated in the extraction and filtration process.
